About the Cheese

A rich, buttery farmhouse cheddar with a golden yellow curd, St Andrews Cheddar offers a delightful crumbly yet creamy texture.

Its tangy, salty profile is full of complex character, featuring well-balanced acidity and a real depth of flavour that lingers, evoking the essence of pastureland.

Aged for a minimum of 12 months, this cheddar embodies the essence of artisan craftsmanship, boasting a powerful, sharp, and tangy profile that will awaken your taste buds.

Enjoy with complex red wines and craft ales.

Cheesemaker: St Andrews Farmhouse Cheese Co.

St Andrews Farmhouse Cheese Co. is run by the Stewart family, who have farmed at Falside in the East Neuk of Fife for more than 50 years.

The farm, now managed by Robert Stewart and his wife Jane, along with their sons Ben and Adam, has been producing cheese by hand from their own Holstein cows since 2008.

The cows graze on lush green pastures overlooking the fishing village of Anstruther, known locally as Anster. The farm employs traditional farming methods, ensuring the cows are predominantly grass-fed, supplemented with silage, and homegrown wheat and barley.

The Stewarts’ dedication to their land and animals is evident in every aspect of their farming and cheesemaking practices, making Anster cheese a true reflection of the rich and diverse food culture of Fife.
