Handmade Matcha Bowl (Chawan) – Tsuchi Brown

Discover the beauty of tradition with this hand-crafted Matcha Chawan, an ideal bowl to enjoy your Matcha Life.

In Japanese, Chawan means “tea bowl,” a classic form that captures the essence of the matcha ritual. Inspired by the rich, earthy tones of Cotswold soil, this bowl features a warm brown gradient with a natural, textured finish reminiscent of raw earth.

Tsuchi (土), pronounced “tsu-chee”, means “soil” in Japanese, reflecting the grounding influence behind this bowl—a nod to the natural beauty of the Cotswolds.

With its textured, grainy surface, this Chawan offers a tactile experience, bringing you closer to the raw materials that make every sip feel intentional. The earthy tones enhance the vibrant green of matcha, creating a harmonious balance.

Crafted for comfort, this Chawan sits perfectly in both hands, providing ample space for whisking to create a smooth, frothy finish. The exposed clay base is sturdy and gentle on surfaces, enhancing its natural appeal.
