Harney & Sons Roasted Buckwheat (Soba) Matcha Tea

For a bright, full-bodied cup of matcha tea, the Harney & Sons Roasted Buckwheat (Soba) Matcha Tea gives you powdered green tea that you whisk straight into water. Nothing is steeped and nothing is strained away, so every sip carries the whole ground leaf. Choose a 4 oz. tin or a 1 lb. bag of loose powder, or a bag of 50 sachets.

Why You’ll Love This Harney & Sons Matcha

• Whole-leaf matcha green tea: The tea is milled to a fine powder and whisked into your cup, so it drinks richer and more opaque than a steeped green tea.
• Simple ingredient list: This tea is pure matcha green tea powder, with nothing else in the catalog ingredient list.
• Easy to prepare: Whisk it by hand for a traditional bowl, or blend it into steamed milk for a homemade matcha latte.
• Formats for every routine: The loose tin suits a kitchen counter, the 1 lb. bag suits daily matcha drinkers, and the sachets are handy for pre-portioned cups.
• A thoughtful gift: A tin of Harney & Sons matcha is an easy choice for friends who enjoy green tea and want to try whisked tea at home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Harney & Sons Roasted Buckwheat (Soba) Matcha Tea have caffeine?
Yes. This is a matcha green tea with a high caffeine level, because you drink the entire powdered leaf rather than an infusion. It is best enjoyed earlier in the day.

How is this Harney & Sons matcha different from regular green tea?
Regular green tea is made by steeping leaves in hot water and then removing them. Matcha is green tea ground into a fine powder and whisked directly into water or milk, so the leaf stays in the cup. That gives it a thicker body and a deeper green color.

Can this matcha tea be used for lattes?
Yes. Whisk the powder into a small amount of water until smooth, then top it with steamed or cold milk for a matcha latte.
