Ceremonial Matcha, by The Tea House, is a premium green tea direct from Kagoshima in Japan.
Tea plants destined for matcha cultivation are shade-grown to promote exceptionally high concentrations of chlorophyll, amino acids and caffeine. Matcha is also rich in antioxidants.
Only first growth leaves, ichibancha, are selected, steamed, dried and meticulously stone-milled to a fine powder. Matcha Kagoshima is verdant green in colour with intense umami notes and a smooth finish with a classic hint of prized bitterness.
The perfect morning beverage, with slow releasing caffeine to keep you going. This is matcha at its peak. A little goes a long way, so head to our brew guide for all you need to know.
The Tea House Matcha Kagoshima is a careful blend of six tea cultivars:
- Yutakamidori – full-bodied, robust, with an intentional hint of sharp bitterness
- Saemidori – glowing emerald-green color with a lively, naturally sweet, and floral flavor with very low bitterness and a clean finish
- Yabukita – classic Japanese cultivar providing a highly traditional, balanced, savory, and slightly brisk profile
- Asanoka – highly aromatic and refreshing, it balances herbal clarity with crisp sweetness
- Kanayamidori – unique and complex, boasting an earthy vibe, high in amino acids with a delicate sweetness
- Okumidori – deep, dark forest green with a calm, rich umami, and creamy finish. Smooth and mellow it is highly prized for meditative, ceremonial brewing
