The Clocktower is a layered black-tea blend for people who want more fragrance and lift than a straightforward breakfast cup, without losing the malty body that makes a proper mug satisfying.

Malty • Gently smoky • Floral

What is in the blend?

The current product record names Assam, Keemun and Darjeeling black teas. It does not give ratios, leaf grades, estates or harvest details. If a precise specification matters to you, ask us to check the current pack before ordering.

Who will enjoy it?

Assam supplies body, Keemun brings a darker, gently smoky note and Darjeeling lifts the finish. Choose it if English Breakfast feels a touch too direct and you want a black tea that is worth tasting plain. A small splash of milk works, but anyone avoiding even a gentle smoky suggestion may prefer a different blend.

Brewing guide

  • Amount: 1 teaspoon per cup
  • Water: Freshly boiled water (100°C)
  • Time: 3 minutes

Strain and taste before adding milk. Shorten the next brew if it is too brisk; if it is too light, add a little more leaf rather than extending the infusion until it dries out.

This blend contains black tea and therefore natural caffeine.

Read The Clocktower guide for an English Breakfast comparison, milk advice and food-pairing ideas.

Brewing in a mug?

Our basket infuser with lid gives loose leaves room to open. Lift it out when your tea is ready, then rest it in the upturned lid. Check your mug’s opening against the measurements on the infuser page.

Storage

Keep it sealed, cool and dry, away from heat, sunlight and strong aromas.

The Clocktower Afternoon Blend FAQs

What does The Clocktower Afternoon Blend taste like? Assam, Keemun and Darjeeling: malt, a little smoke and a floral lift for the afternoon.

Does The Clocktower Afternoon Blend contain caffeine? Yes. As a black tea it naturally contains caffeine. For a later cup, Decaf English Breakfast is a gentler choice.

How do I brew The Clocktower Afternoon Blend? Use one teaspoon per cup with freshly boiled water and steep for 3 minutes. Taste it, then adjust the time next round rather than stewing the leaves.

Can I have The Clocktower Afternoon Blend with milk? Yes. It has the body to take milk well; add it after brewing.

How should I store The Clocktower Afternoon Blend? Keep the pouch sealed and somewhere cool, dry and dark, away from strong smells like coffee or spices.
